Welcome to Royal Chester Rowing Club. We are a thriving centre for Rowing on the spectacular River Dee close to the centre of Chester.
Founded in 1838, we are one of the oldest rowing clubs in the United Kingdom with a full range of squads to suit all individual needs. The club has dedicated, experienced coaches and a superb fleet of boats. We have a thriving social environment for all of our members to unwind after a training session on the river.
Thank you for visiting our website and please contact the captain if you have any questions. We look forward to meeting you in the future.
Sadly we have lost another of the clubs elder statemen with the passing of Clive Oliver, who died recently in a Chester nursing home.
Clive stroked the Royals 1st VIII in the late 1950’s and rowed with the Club at Senior and Masters level until his failing health forced him to give up about 3 years ago.
He's pictured here in the centre with fellow club masters when they were invited to a celebration row past at Henley Royal Regatta in 2010.
