Established in 1935, as a 5km race for eights on the river Dee from Eccleston Ferry to the Dee Lane, the first winners were Thames RC in a time of 18min 35sec. Usually raced on a Saturday one week before the Tideway Head the event is now open to Eights, Junior Octuples and quads and provides a fantastic final race sharpening opportunity.

THE RACE IS CANCELLED
We have cancelled the race due to Coronavirus.
This was a difficult decision but it is a fast moving situation and we have crews travelling from different parts of the country and this creates an unnecessary risk of transmission of the disease -. We are sorry the decision is late but feel it is in the best interest of all concerned.
